Traveling...again

Hello everyone!  Sorry for the lack of posts...I have been doing a bit of this lately...

 No...this was not a holiday...

 ...but it was a very good and productive trip!

I will have more news on where I have been very soon!

I wanted to share more photos from the photo shoot of my studio when Wantful visited a while back.

These photos are by Ike Edeani.  I really love the style of his work...then I discovered that he has a great blog too!

What I find most interesting is to see another person's perspective when they visit the studio!  I watched him as he quietly walked around the studio and observed and discreetly captured the mood of the space.  This is evident in the other photos you see on his website.  The natural personality comes across in his portraits and in his quiet observations which capture the essence of San Francisco.

I hope you enjoy seeing his work and reading his blog as much as I do!

Elements...by François Bernard

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I have been quite behind in reporting all the latest happenings for Tina Frey Designs.

I am finally getting around to posting about the "Elements" exhibition curated and conceptualized by François Bernard.  I was so thrilled since my designs were selected and this took place during Maison & Objet in September 2012.  The exhibition was really well done and inspiring!  To be in the company of so many amazing designers was truly an honor!

The theme of the event was focused on the "Elements" of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire...

..."elements proposes a vision of current design for objects and furniture that combine geometrical, archetypal, molecular, and abstract forms and thus favor a simple, poetic timelessness.  But if this kind of elementary expression is simple, it is not simplistic.  The objects are rich with emotion and sensation.  Their geometrical dimension fuses with the physical states of nature, whose elements - water, earth, fire and air - bring fluidity, mass, cohesion, and power; or, conversely, lightness, evanescence.  These objects invite us to "dream" with their forms, their surface appearance, or the physical properties of their materials"

Spring weather inspirations

The weather today in San Francisco is absolutely beautiful and I have the windows open.  It feels like spring with the warm sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, and I can hear the the birds twittering outside!  This is my favorite time of year and it makes me smile!

Although I admit I do not have a green thumb, this weather makes me think of plants and gardening!  Maybe this will give you some inspiration to get some new plants and decorate with the new Hanging Vessels and Planters!
